Tech Weather collects only what is needed to deliver the forecast and protect the service from abuse.

What we collect and why

Newsletter subscribers provide an email address and timezone so the daily forecast can be delivered near their local morning. We also record the consent time and signup page. For rate limiting and abuse detection, an IP address is converted immediately into an unlinkable hash using a secret salt that changes every UTC day; the raw IP address is never stored.

Retention

Email, timezone, and consent records are kept until unsubscribe or a verified deletion request. Daily-salted IP hashes, search attempts, and visitor telemetry are deleted after 48 hours. Ordinary operational events are retained for 90 days; validation and moderation records for 180 days.

Processors

Cloudflare processes site traffic and stores Worker, D1, and KV data. Resend processes subscriber email addresses to deliver the newsletter. Neither processor is used for advertising.

Tracking

There are no advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or email open-tracking pixels. Tech Weather does not sell personal data.
